2000 MW shortfall due to fuel shortage: Govt utilising all sources to curb energy crisis, reiterates Abid

FAISLABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Ch Abid Sher Ali has reiterated that the government is utilising all resources to curb the energy crisis in the country.

Addressing a function held at the residence of PML-N leader Rana Javed Iqbal on completion of carpet road and PCC streets in NA-84, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to provide the maximum relief to the masses by reducing power tariff and prices of petroleum products.

He said the ministry of water and power had focused hydropower projects to produce cheap electricity, adding that a number of new projects were being started to overcome the crisis while projects in pipeline were being completed with fast speed.

It is pertinent to mention that the country has already suffering from energy crisis, meanwhile petrol shortage, owing to Rs200 billion circular debt, has also hit the masses and shortened 2000 MW electricity production.
