Promotion of value addition sector top priority: Minister Dastgir

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that the government was keenly promoting the value addition of the export products on priority.

He said that promotion of the value addition sector was a key to establish a strong industrial base and economical stability in the country. Promotion of country’s value addition sector was top priority of the government.

He said the government was providing the level playing field to country’s traders, industrialists and exporters despite facing a challenging situation in the country. He assured the business community to remove all the flaws and hurdles from the smooth way of trade development in the country by taking the traders’ community into confidence, enabling country’s trade and export sectors to meet the international trade challenges under the prevailing WTO Regime. He stated this while addressing the participants after administrating oath to the newly-elected office bearers of “The Daska Engineering and Industrial Association” held at Daska here the other day. MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah and MPA Muhammad Asif Bajwa were also present on this occasion. The Federal Minister added that the government was making hectic efforts to ensure the proper growth of exports and to bring the economical stability in the country.

He said that the proper export growth and trade development was being ensured in the country through establishing a proper mechanism of proper mutual mechanism of cooperation in all the departments under the broad economical development vision of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Khurram Dastgir revealed that the government was also liberalizing the national economy by removing all the hurdles, if any, from the way of trade development and export promotion in the country.

The Federal Minister narrated that the government was also striving to open the new vistas of export exploration, urging the traders, industrialists and exporters to focus on the diversification of their traditional to non-traditional export products by exploring and capturing the new international trade and export markets.

He said that the government was fully aware of the perturbing problems being faced by the business community and was making all out sincere efforts to solve these problems amicably by taking business community into confidence, in this regard.

Earlier, the Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir administrated oath to the newly elected office bearers of The Daska Engineering and Industrial Association during an oath-taking ceremony held at Daska here…#
