Agri loans up 38pc to Rs219.5b in July-Dec from Rs159.4bn: SBP

KARACHI – State Bank of Pakistan has disclosed that banks’ agriculture credit disbursement advanced 38 per cent to Rs219.5 billion during the first half (July-Dec) of the current fiscal year from Rs159.4bn in the same period last year.

The amount disbursed is 44pc of Rs500bn target set for this fiscal year. Under microfinance category, seven microfinance banks as a group disbursed Rs13.8bn against their annual target of Rs28.2bn, while four Islamic banks collectively disbursed Rs0.9bn against Rs2.3bn target.
