He said, “Kuwait, that is one of the biggest seafood markets for Pakistan, cancelled import orders of about 15,000 kilograms of marine products.”

Sources said that the white pomfret and other fresh fish items were rejected by the Kuwaiti civil authorities as the said products were allegedly found unhygienic for human beings.

Faisal Iftikhar said that Pakfea has already been urging Marine Fisheries Department (MFD) to establish its examination office at all the airports as lots of exporters use fake documents for exporting their consignments of low quality seafood products.
