MEXICO: According to the experts, a large ancient monolith is discovered in the Mediterranean Sea bed with three holes that are thought to be crafted 10,000 years ago. They also believe that this structure is broken into two parts and does not appear like a natural phenomenon.
One of the holes is seen to travel through both parts and the other two are on the sides only.
Zvi Ben-Avraham, of Tel Aviv University, and Emanuele Lodolo of the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics in Trieste, Italy, published in the Journal of Archaeological Science: ‘There are no reasonable known natural processes that may produce these elements’.
The ancient 15-tonne monolith was found 131ft deep in the Sicilian Channel which was said to be an island once inhabited by prehistoric civilisation known as Pantelleria Vecchia. However, the reason for its existence is still a mystery.
The Last Glacial period with most prominent ice sheets (9,500 years ago) led to the submergence of this island due to floods.
This discovery suggests the Mesolithic human activities and their imaginative technical engineering skills and innovation in the Sicilian Channel.
The archaeologists are further studying and surveying this project using geophysical and geological methods to enlighten the people with more valuable information.
