About 64 offending & NDP vehicles worth Rs104.5m impounded by Peshawar ASO during August

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar took into possession 64 offending and Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles during the month of August Financial Year (FY) 2017-18. The value of the impounded vehicles is Rs104.5million.

According to details given by Deputy Collector ASO Peshawar Zakir Mohammad while talking with Customs Today that ASO Peshawar impounded 48 offending vehicles valued at Rs70.35million. The offending vehicles were taken into possession during various operations from different locations under the jurisdiction of Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar.

The Peshawar ASO impounded 16 NDP offending vehicles priced at Rs34.25million during the month of August FY2017-18. It may be remembered that the MCC Peshawar is divided into three divisions that are North Peshawar of Mardan and Noweshra, Kohat division and Hazara division. The said NDP vehicles were taken into possession by squads of above said different divisions on the information of sources of the ASO.
Talking about the performance from July to August FY2017-18, he said that, during first two months of current FY17-18, the ASO squads impounded 118 NDP offending vehicles worth Rs162.60million. During said months, the ASO took into possession 29 NDP vehicles priced at Rs51.45million while the ASO Peshawar impounded 89 offending vehicles valued at Rs.111.15million.
