About 83 recommendations incorporated in finance bill 2016

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Finance has been informed that 83 recommendations were implemented or were in the process of implementation out of total 86 proposals accepted for incorporation in the Finance Bill 2016.

The meeting of the committee was held here under the chairmanship of Senator Saleem Mandviwala, which among others was attended by Senators Muhammad Azam Khan Swati and Sardar Fateh Muhammad Muhammad Hassani.

Senior officials from Finance Ministry, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, Higher Education Commission, and chamber representatives were also present on the occasion.

The representatives of Finance Ministry informed the senate body that the committee had made 139 recommendations, out of which 86 were accepted for incorporation in the finance bill, adding that 83 were either implemented or partially implemented or are in the process of implementation.

For the implementation of remaining three recommendations, the concerned quarters are yet to provide their feedback, they added.
