Abu Dhabi ports reveal plans to upgrade terminal operating systems

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Ports has revealed plans to upgrade terminal operating systems. The port operator will replace existing software with the ‘Master Terminal’ programme, which provides real-time information about cargo flows.

The TOS roll out is scheduled to take place during the second quarter of 2015, with Khalifa Port and Zayed Port the first sites slated to switch.’Master Terminal’ will boost our service offerings and support us in handling our growing general cargo volumes and delivering trade excellence,” commented Gary Lemke, executive vice president of Abu Dhabi Ports’ Ports unit.

Abu Dhabi Ports is confident that the TOS upgrade will facilitate the handling of larger cargo volumes across its  terminals. The operator claims that the software will increase visibility and productivity with regards its operations, planning, and reporting procedures.
