AC Saima issues notices to two accused in non-duty paid truck case

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Customs Adjudication (ADC) Saima Aftab served show cause notices on two accused allegedly involved in Mazda Mini Truck smuggling case.

The collector issued notices to Zareen Khan and Majid Khan. The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded the truck with Registration No: LZJ–6737 after the driver failed to show documents regarding the legal import of the truck.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to both accused on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act-1969. The duty and taxes appraised is Rs1.5million.

However the adjudication has directed the accused to file their replies by the given time which is also a last date of hearing. The case of truck may be decided in the next hearing, sources informed.
