Accountability Court reissues notices to Mustafa Kamal

KARACHI: An accountability court reissued notice to Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal on a reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against 11 accused persons, including former Karachi mayor and PSP chief Mustafa Kamal pertaining to the alleged illegal allotment of state-owned lands in Clifton, block 3, near Sea view.

The court conducted the hearing on the reference and provided its copies to the accused persons. The court also reissued notices to Kamal, Zain Malik of Bahria Town and Nazeer Zardari and instructed them to ensure their appearance on next hearing.

According to the reference filed in an accountability court of Karachi, Sindh Director General Building Control Authority Iftikhar Kaimani was also involved in the alleged illegal activity.

According to the NAB’s references. The land was allotted to hawkers and shopkeepers in 1980 which was later got by DG Builders on lease in 2005.

The accused persons have inflicted a damage of over Rs2.5 billion to the national exchequer, said the reference.
