ADC Beelam adjourns 10 smuggling cases on Monday

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam Ramzan heard 10 cases of smuggling on Monday and adjourned all until June 25, 2016.

Beelam heard four cases of the Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) against accused person Riaz Hussain involved in smuggling of cigarettes, cloth and baby shoes worth Rs 2.282 million, Khuram Altaf involved in smuggling of items worth Rs 1.27 million, Iyaz Hussain facing charges of smuggling of Indian tea worth Rs 2.471 million and a fourth cases against Muhammed Umer involved in using a non-duty paid vehicle worth Rs 1.135 million.

The adjudication authority also heard three cases filed by Mianwali ASO. A case against Asghar Hussain involved in using non-duty paid Toyota Hilux worth Rs 2.193 million, a case against Attaullah involved in smuggling of contraband items worth Rs 1.311 million and a case of impounded Toyota car worth Rs 1.484 million were scheduled for the day.

A case of smuggled LED TVs, TV kits etc. worth Rs 1.156 million against Painda Khan and another case of smuggled Hino Truck worth Rs 1.139 million against Muhammad Umar were also heard by the customs adjudication. These two cases were filed by the Sargodha ASO. A case filed by the Faisalabad Customs was also heard.
