ADC Beelum issues notice in smuggled Lexus car case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelum-ur-Ramzan has issued show cause notice to suspect allegedly involved in smuggling of used Lexus V-6 car.

As per the details, the Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded Lexus car bearing Registration No IDO -786, Islamabad. Acting upon the said information, a customs intelligence team established a check post near MM Road, Mianwali and intercepted a vehicle but the driver did not stop. However, the customs team chased the vehicle, but the driver escaped leaving behind the car.

The customs intelligence officials impounded the vehicle and tried to trace the driver but failed. The Customs Adjudication issued notice to the suspect on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication will await the reply by November 10, 2016, which also the last date of hearing.

Additional Collector Beelum while hearing cases of non-duty paid vehicle had issued notice to unknown. The culprit has been directed to file reply in their respective case in the month of the October. The cases of vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.
