ADC Saeed declares seizure of Finisher Paver as legal

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Faisalabad Additional Collector ADC Saeed Asad declared the confiscation of Finisher Paver Mitsubishi with carrier vehicle by Mianwali Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) lawful besides giving an opportunity to the accused owner for getting release of subject items after paying the redemption fine and duty taxes. ADC Saeed issued Order-In Original (ONO) No: 29/2017.

The ASO Mianwali team had raided the area near Jhal Chakian, Khushab Road Sargodha, and intercepted a F/O Mitsubishi paver machine No: MF40 DN-890-07900, N790-34100, which was being transported from Ternol Mor Rawalpindi to Sahiwal, district Sargodha, by a vehicle with registration No: TKZ-669.

Superintendent ASO Mianwali asked Muhammad Sameer son of Imam Bakhash, a resident of Muzzafar Ghar (Driver), to show the legal documents regarding the import of the machine but he failed to do so. The team forwarded the case to Adjudication Department for legal action.

Later, the accused showed willingness to pay duty and taxes against the seized items on which the judge ordered the legal handover of the goods after paying duty and taxes and redemption fine of Rs2000 under Section 181 of the Customs Act-1969.

He was also warned to exercise a due care in future while booking transportation of suspicious goods.
