ADC Nisar welcomes participants of seminar on int’l exports controls

ISLAMABAD: The Customs officials of Air Freight Unit (AFU) welcomed foreign delegation after attending two-day seminar on international exports controls in Pakistan organized by Strategic Export Control Division (SECDIV).

According to details, the delegation was received by Additional Collector AFU Nisar Ahmad Phularwan and Deputy Collector Saleha Zakir. A short briefing on export control was given by the Deputy Collector Export Saleha Zakir. After the briefing, the delegation was shown all export control procedures physically.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector AFU said that delegation was informed about multiple assessments and examination processes whereas the delegation was also sensitized about the National Nuclear Detection Automation (NNDA) and the Radio Portal Monitor installed at the AFU Islamabad.

She said that during the briefing on Radio Portal Monitor (RPM) the delegation apprised that this is the first RPM for any airways unit in Pakistan. The delegation further told that portal has been donated by Strategic Plan Division (SPD). The delegation was shows the export shed SAPS where they witnessed examination of export cargos.

Deputy Collector Export told that the delegates took special interest in various detection equipments and requested the AFU for demonstration of XRF machine on surgical equipment after that the delegates served with tea and refreshment which was arranged by the AFU Export Islamabad. At the end, the delegates were gifted traditional Ajrak shawls as a souvenir.
