Additional Collector Asma declares seizure of tyres cloth legal

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication additional Collector Asma Hameed issued Order in Original (ONO) in favor of Customs Intelligence and Investigations.

Sources told Customs Today that Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal intercepted a Bedford truck near Shahkot Toll Plaza which was loaded with foreign origin sofa cloth 1645 kilograms old and thirty used tyres for LTV in different brand. The driver of the vehicle failed to provide any legal documents regarding transportation of goods. Customs I&I team after registering a case forwarded the same to customs adjudication.

During the proceedings of the case, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Arshad appeared from the prosecution and stated that smuggled goods are smuggled one. Therefore Additional Collector Asma Hameed issued Order in Original (ONO) No 158/2018 in favor of customs intelligence Range office Faisalabad and declared the seizure of the cloth tyres as legal.
