Additional Collector Beelam issues 3 ONOs against smugglers

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan has issued three Orders-in-Original (ONOs) against the culprits who were involved in the smuggling and tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan issued an ONO in favour of the Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha by deciding a case of confiscated Land Cruiser bearing registration no. B-1948 Charsadda which was brought into country without payment of duty and taxes.

The adjudication also settled a case of M/s J.K Spinning Mills Limited. The case was registered by Customs Collectorate, bond section. Customs authorities also issued an analysis certificate of certain input goods to be consumed in manufacturing of one finished items meant for export with wastage of 12%. This means that 88% input raw material was to be net consumed. This results into excess consumption of raw material causing non realization of government revenue amounting to Rs 15,85,976.  Customs Adjudication decided the case in favour of the department.

In another case, the ADC issued ONO in favour of Sargodha ASO in a case of a non-duty paid Toyota Hilux bearing registration no. AJKF-8137 impounded near Factory Area Chowk Sargodha. Furthermore, the adjudication authority decided a case and issued ONOs in favour of the customs department according to customs rules and regulations.
