Additional Collector Beelam issues notice to owner of non-duty paid vehicle

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan has issued a show cause notice to Mohammed Amjad who is owner of a used Honda car which was being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today that Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded the Honda car bearing registration no. AFZ – 119 during an intelligence based operation near Shahkot, Faisalabad . The worth of the vehicle is Rs 1,400,000.

During the checking of vehicle, the Customs Intelligence team intercepted the vehicle and its owner introduced himself as Mohammad Amjad and driver named as Mohammad Ajmal  .

On demand of the Customs team, Mohammad Ahmed failed to produce documents regarding legal import of the vehicle. The customs Intelligence team impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.
