Additional Collector Beelam issues notice to owner of smuggled Toyota Premio

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan issued a show cause notice to the owner of a non-duty paid Toyota Premio car worth Rs 900,000.

According to details, Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a Toyota Premio car bearing registration no. 14-1111 near Fawara Chowk Hilal Road Faisalabad.

The team asked the driver named Muhammad Amin son of Muhammad Aslam to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under customs laws and forwarded case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now, Additional Collector Beelam issued a show cause notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.

However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing i.e. October 22, 2016. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.
