Additional Collector Beelam Ramzan issues in favour of Customs DTRE

LAHORE: Additional Collector Customs Collectorate of Adjudication Beelamur Ramzan has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of Customs DTRE, Faisalabad.

Brief facts of the case as reported by the Assisant Collector Bonds, MCC Faisalaba that it was observed by the Audit Officer, DGRRA, Lahore during the course of audit for the Financial Year 2012, 2013 vide Draft Para no. 1105/BWH it was observed that M./s. J.K. Spinning Mills Limited, Faisalabad was issued an analysis certificate for certain input goods to be consumed in manufacturing of one finished items meant for export with wastage of 12%. This means that 88% input raw material was to be net consumed.

However, the manufacturer claimed wastage at higher rates than actual. This resulted into excess consumption of raw material causing non-realization of Government revenue amounting to Rs15,85,976/-.

The Additional Collector stated that there are sufficient reasons to believe that the defaulter licensee M/s J.K. Spinning Mills Limited Sheikhupura Road, Faisalabad has evaded duty and taxes amounting to Rs15,85,976/-. Therefore, said amount of duty and taxes so evaded including additional duties tax, penalities and surcharges may kindly be ordered from the licensee besides any other penal action as deemed necessary.

It is necessary to mention here Customs Adjudication expedited their efforts to conclude hearing of pending cases on priority basis.
