Additional collector Beelamur Ramzan orders release of seized goods

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Adjudication Beelam Ramzan has ordered the release of the seized goods. The case was forwarded by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha.

Sources informed Customs Today that an ASO team stopped a vehicle near Sial More Motorway and recovered a huge quantity of gutkha, NTN bearings, cloth, and other goods.

The owner of the goods failed to provide any documents regarding possession of the seized goods. The ASO team seize the items and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.

Sources said Muhammad Safdar  (inspector) appeared in adjudication on behalf of the ASO and stated that his department has no objection if the goods are released against payment of leviable duty and taxes except the goods which are not importable under import policy order and fall in the ambit of section 2(s) of the customs act 1969.

After examining the case additional Collector Customs Adjudication Beelamur Ramzan ordered the the authorities to release seized goods after payment of leviable taxes, duty and fine.
