Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan issues ONO against non-duty paid vehicle

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Beelamur Ramzan issued Order-in-Original (ONO) against owner of non-duty paid vehicle and directed to impound the same.

According to details, the Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) team intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration No: LIT- 9197. The driver of the vehicle who was identified as Attaullah son of Muhammad Anwar and second person identified himself as Haji Abdullah  son of Fiaz Ullah. The ASO team asked both persons to show legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but they failed to provide any legal documents, regarding possession of the vehicle, to the ASO team. The ASO team impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to the Customs Adjudication.

The forensic report of the vehicle stated as Hino Truck bearing registration No: LlT 9197 ,  chassis No: FF3HKK- 10546,   horse power 180CC, model 1998,  engine No. 11126 , the number frame found cut and welded means original chassis number has been cut away and a bogus chassis number is being used”.

Superintendent Sardar Muhammad,  Inspector Abdul Jabbar, Safdar Ali, Naseer Ahmed, Bashir Hussain, Azhar Hassain Jafri, Intelligence Officer Masood Saeed Chouhan and Ali Zahid appeared before the customs adjudication, while no one appeared from the respondent’s side.

As no one appeared before the court to defend the case, Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Beelam-ur-Ramzan issued an ONO to impound the vehicle under clause 14 of Section 156(1), 157(1) and (2) of the Customs Act, 1969.
