Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan issues show cause notice in smuggled fabrics case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan has issued show cause notice to a suspect in a non -duty paid Ladies printed fabrics case worth Rs1.9 million.

As per details, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation told Customs Today that the team seized ladies printed Fabrics from Dry Port Jumra Road, Faisalabad.

The team asked the owner of the Smuggled goods named as Shahid Zaman, to show documents regarding legal import of the Smuggled ladies printed fabrics but he remained failed to produce same.

Therefore, the officials seized the fabrics under customs laws and forwarded case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now, Additional Collector Beelam issued notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing i.e. October 10, 2016. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.

The adjudication authority also directed Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
