ADC Imran Chaudhary imposes penalty of Rs2.9m on M/s Huawei Technology

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector, Customs Adjudication Imran Ahmed Chaudhary has penalized M/s Huawei Technology for attempting to defraud the exchequer through mis-declaration.

According to details, Additional Collector, Customs Adjudication Imran Ahmed Chaudhary told Customs Today that the audit team observed during scrutiny of import data of M/s Huawei Technology that it imported its consignments of mobile parts and accessories and cleared the same from AFU Islamabad by willfully and knowingly mis-declaring the goods under PTC Heading 8504.4020 by evading the government revenue of Rs 2.9 million.

Additional Collector Imran Ahmed Chaudhary noted that the audit scrutiny of GD revealed that the import goods were deliberately mis-declared in order to evade levyable duty and taxes while after detailed hearing of the case .

The Additional Collector office found the charges established and ordered the importer M/s Huawei Technology to pay 2.9 million into the government treasury and a penalty of 30% of total worth of the imported goods was also imposed on the importer to pay in the treasury.
