Additional Collector Saima Aftab directs to release generator, Mazda truck

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Saima Aftab has directed to release old and used generator of 400-KVA and Mazda truck being used for transportation according to the customs act 1969.

According to details, the customs team intercepted a Mazda truck loaded with foreign origin generator near Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad. The driver, who was identified himself as Samar Abbas son of Munir Ahmad, failed to produce legal documents regarding possession of the generator  after which customs team seized the items and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication.

During the proceedings of the case, Naseer Ahmed and Mansoor Ahmad intelligence officers appeared from customs team whereas Muhammad Khalid appeared on behalf of the party and stated that the seized generator was legally imported into Pakistan also stated that the generator seized was sent to Faisalabad for maintenance. He said that the generator was purchased by M/s Shadman CNG Station Gujranwala vide sales tax invoice no. 2007-2008/531 from M/s. SM Jaffer and Co, Karachi who had imported the same GD No. HC-408503.

After hearing the arguments of both parties, Additional Collector Saima Aftab directed to release the seized generator and vehicle.
