Additional Collector Saima Aftab issues show cause notice to tax evader

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Saima Aftab has issued a show cause notice to a suspect who is involved in tax evasion of Rs 2 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Saima Aftab served a show cause notice on the suspect through Custom Intelligence and investigation Faisalabad.

As per details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation authorities forwarded a case against Muhammad Akmal following the charges of non-duty paid foreign origin Toyota Hiace van bearing registration no. LES- 10-6585. The accused had brought the vehicle into country without the payment of leviable duty and taxes.

The intelligence team after seizing the vehicle made a case against him and sent to Customs Adjudication for further legal action. Now after scrutinizing the whole case customs Adjudication Faisalabad Additional Collector Saima Aftab issued show cause notice to owner of the vehicle and summoned him to explain his position, while on the other hand Adjudication autorities also summoned a reprsentative of Customs Intelligence to explain their point of view.
