Additional Colletor Beelamur Ramzan issues show-cause notice

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan has issued a show-cause notice in a seizure case of smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 819,000 involving customs duty and taxes amounting to Rs 1,274,191.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Superintendent intercepted a loader rickshaw outside Karkahna Bazar and recovered foreign origin cigarettes 19-cartons of Dunhill, master blend, made in India for delivery to the city area. The ASO team seized all the items and forward the case to Customs Adjudication .

After receiving the seizure report Additional Collector Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan has issued show cause notice to Adnan Irfan and Muhammad Shahid (consignor, consignee), in seizure case of smuggling cigarettes.

Sources said that Adjudication authority also directed in above said case that owner of the seized items .The authority also directed if the owner fails to provide evidence the case will be decided on the basis of evidence available on demand.
