LAHORE: Local car makers have increased car prices following imposition of additional customs duty on the imported parts.
According to details, compelled by the recent increase in custom duty on CKD and imported parts by 1 percent vide SRO 1178(I)/ 2015, Indus Motor Company Limited has increased the prices of its vehicles, ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000.
Company COO, Ali Asghar Jamali said that the new prices will be applicable with immediate effect for booking of new orders to be delivered from January 2016 onward whereas the company will absorb the incremental costs on balance orders of vehicles booked until December 3, 2015.
IMC has kept the prices stable for more than a year time while absorbing most of the increased cost of production on account of continuous rupee depreciation and increasing utility expenses
