Additioner Collector Saima Aftab declares seizure of Hino truck legal

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Saima Aftab has declared seizure of Hino truck as legal according to customs act 1969.

Sources informed Customs Today that Field Intelligence Unit of Khushab intercepted a Hino Ranger truck displaying No. SBA-824 (Sibi ) and asked driver of the vehicle who was identified as  Habibur Rehman son of  Abdul Haleem to produce legal documents regarding possession of above said vehicle. But the driver of the vehicle failed to produce any documents regarding legal import and lawful possession of the said vehicle except registration book. FIU Khushab seized the vehicle and forwd the case to adjudication department.

Furthermore no one appeared to defend the case from respondent side nor any written reply has been received from the respondent despite giving ample opportunities to be heard. Muhammad Saleem Intelligence Officer (IO) appeared from the prosecution side and asserted that the seized vehicle fall under the ambit of section 2(s) of the customs act 1969.

After scrutinizing whole case Additional Collector Saima Aftab issued OnO in favour of Customs Intelligence and declared the seizure of vehicle legal.
