Customs Adjudication ADC Amjad announces seizure of 2,273kg cloth

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Faisalabad, Amjad-ur-Rehman, issued Order-in-Original (ONO) by declaring the confiscation of 2,273 kilograms of smuggled cloth lawful.

As per details, the Customs Investigation and Intelligence Faisalabad has confiscated the cloth in a raid and forwarded the case No. 28/2015 to adjudication for further legal proceedings against the accused.

The accused person namely as Ghulam Murtaza Shah appeared before the authority and argued that imposed allegations were beyond the facts and misleading, while he could not produce any evidence showing the legal import of the vehicle.

On the other hand, Customs Intelligence Senior officer Muhammad Tahir represented the department and presented a report base on evidence claiming the illegality of the items.

After hearing the case, the additional collector issued orders in favour of the customs and declared the confiscation outright under Section 156(1) and 89 of Customs Act, 1969.
