Adjudication Additional Collector Saima hears three cases of smuggled generators

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Saima Aftab has heard three cases of smuggled generators involving Rs 5.43 million and adjourned all cases for the next hearing.

As per details, all the three cases have been filed by the Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation here the other day.

The cases for hearing are included a case of foreign origin generator of 150 KVA capacity involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.27 million against Waseem Iqbal, accused person, a case of 500 KVA generator involving Rs 2.57 million against Muniem Hakeem Umar and a case of 600 KVA generator involving Rs 1.58 million against Farhan Saleem.

All the generators were brought into the country without payment of leviable duty/taxes violating the customs laws.
