Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir declares confiscation of truck as lawful

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed has issued an Order-in-Original (ONO) declaring the confiscation of Hino Ranger Truck, which was impounded by Customs Intelligence, lawful.

As per details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted Hino Ranger Truck bearing registration No. HNR-2550 and asked driver Sohai Badshah to produce documents showing legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle. But he could not produce any documents.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle and conducted its forensic test following suspicion. After laboratory test the chassis number found meddled with and non-duty paid. Later, the case was sent to adjudication.

The truck with Engine No. J08C-J19615 and Chassis No. FD1JJD-11209 was imported by MIS BAIG Enterprises and Engineering, Islamabad and it was cleared after thorough examination by the classification committee constituted by the Customs Appraisement, Karachi.

Collector Raja Tahir declared the confiscation of the Hino truck lawful under clauses 10-A and 89(i) of Section 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969 read with Section 3(1) (3) of the Imports and Exports Control Act 1951 further read with SRO 499(1) 2009.
