The decision on the extension of date of hearing was made by the Customs Collector Adjudication-I Syed Shahanshah Hasnain after the respondent of M/s PTCL was not present on Thursday, April 10, the previous date of hearing. However, the other respondents, M/s Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd and its clearing agent M/s Eastern Freighter Services, were present on the previous date of hearing.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collectorate of Adjudication-I had issued show-cause notice to M/s Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL), its local contractor M/s Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, and its clearing agent M/s Eastern Freighter Services in the month of March in which the collectorate had summoned the respondents for hearing on 10, April, 2014.
