QALAT: Police seized 200kg of heroin from a mini-bus and detained four persons in connection with the seizure in southern Zabul province, an official said on Monday.
Deputy provincial police chief Ghulam Jilani Farahi told Pajhwok Afghan News the heroin were seized on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
He said the drugs were skillfully placed under flour sacks in the mini-bus coming from Kabul to Kandahar. Farahi said police had launched a fierce campaign against narcotics in the province.
Some 80,000 hectares of land has been cultivated with poppy crop on agriculture land in southern Helmand province this year.
