KABUL: Afghanistan government has raised air tax by $100 to increase government revenue from airspace.
Previously, an air tax of $400 would be charged for every flight passing through the Afghan airspace. With effect from 01 April 2015, the rate is hiked to $500.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired President, Ashraf Ghani, before his departure to the US.
Over 200 flights pass through the Afghan airspace on a daily basis, generating millions of dollars in revenue to the Afghan government.
