AFU expects surplus CD & ST against allocated targets for June

PESHAWAR: The Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad will stay plus with the collection of Customs Duty (CD) and Sales Tax (ST) against the assigned targets for the month of June’s Financial Year 2016-17.

The AFU Islamabad generated Rs272.00million of All Duty Taxes during 1st to 14th of June’s Financial Year 2016-17. The AFU has been assigned Rs864million revenue target with All Duty Taxes for the current month 2016-17.
According to Additional Deputy Collector Khawaja Khuram Naeem, the performance has been satisfactory during the initial 14 days of June 16-17. During above said period, the AFU received Rs89million of Customs Duty (CD) while it did Rs118million of Sales Tax (ST) and the AFU got Rs65million of Withholding Tax (WT).
The Additional Deputy Collector stated that the AFU is trying its level best to meet the allocated target of June’s Financial Year 16-17. He added that the AFU has geared up its activity regarding the recovery and the AFU had also held two auctions to meet the shortfall of the target.

He stated that the AFU shall meet its overall revenue target assigned for Financial Year 2016-17 but Customs Duty target is higher than previous month’s of FY16-17. During rest of the days of current June FY16-17, the AFU is expecting some huge consignments of different imported goods.
