AFU recovers Rs2.44b in July

LAHORE: The Customs Air Freight Unit collected Rs 2.44 billion on account of duty and taxes which is 25 percent extra than the same tenure of the fiscal year of 2017-18.

Sources told Customs Today, that Air Freight Unit has collected this amount under the head of federal excise duty (FED), sales tax (ST) and other charges.

It is pertinent to mention here that customs of Allama Iqbal International Airport recovered Rs 96 million in the wake of customs duty on Saturday which is  lower than the same day of last fiscal which was stand at Rs210 million. While on the other hand the Collectorate achieved all of their targets for the month of July.

All the Customs Collectorate expedited their efforts to recover outstanding dues from tax defaulters. Customs Air Freight Unit is also adopted comprehensive strategy to earn handsome revenue.
