AFU seizes six bottles of alcohol at Faisalabad airport

FAISALABAD: The Customs Air Freight Unit (AFU) team recovered six bottles of foreign origin liquor worth Rs 30,000 from a passenger.

As per the details, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizawan Khan formed a special team under the supervision of AFU Superintendent Dilawar Hussain, comprising Inspector Zulifkar Ali, Muhammad Saddique,  Talat Masood, Sheikh Maqsood Khalid, Javid iqbal and Saifullah sepoys.

The team intercepted a passenger namely as Shazad Farhan having passport No, JV5145552 who arrived at the airport from Dubai through International Flight No FEZ-343 and checked his luggage.

The customs team asked the passenger to open the bag in the presence of two witnesses which led to the recovery of three bottles of foreign origin liquor of Red Label, Jim Beam brand.

During the checking of the luggage the authorities seized the liquor bottles under the contravention Section 2(S), read with SRO 566(1)/2005, Section 15 and 16 of the Customs Act, 1969 and submitted a report to the customs adjudication.
