AGP signs MoU with State Audit Office of Vietnam

ISLAMABAD: Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) Rana Assad Amin and Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Dr Ho Duc Phoc Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two audit institutions.

Pakistan and the State Audit Office of Vietnam pertains to cooperation in public sector auditing and signed MoU in side event of XXII International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions at Abu Dhabi, UAE here on Thursday, a statement issued by AGP office here said. The heads of the two SAIs agreed to benefit from each other’s experience through mutual study visits, cooperative audits, peer reviews and capacity building programmes.

The AGP Rana Assad Amin expressed on the occasion that the signing of the formal MoU will further enhance the existing relations with the State Audit Office of Vietnam and will open new areas of co-operation between the two SAIs.

The signing of the MoU with SAI Vietnam is continuation of the effort of Office of the Auditor General of Pakistan (OAGP) to formalize its bilateral relations with different SAIs in the region and across the globe.

Earlier, the OAGP has also signed the MoUs with SAI Iran and Turkey, while negotiations are underway to sign the MoUs with the Accounts Chamber of Republic of Tajikistan, Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia, office of the Auditor General of Nepal, State Audit Institution of United Arab Emirates, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, National Audit Department of Malaysia, the Auditor General’s Department of Sri Lanka and office of the Auditor General of Thailand.
