ISLAMABAD: In order to strengthen capacity and capability of auditors, the Department of Auditor General of Pakistan (DAGP) is all set to train as many as 500 officers in different fields of audit within four months.
“These officer and auditors would be provided specialized training in the fields of forensic auditing IS auditing, environmental auditing and other areas of relevance by December 2017,” official sources said.
For improving the performance of DAGP, the department was also moving ahead for putting in place the Audit Management Information System (AMIS) which would enable the Auditor General to keep check on field audits performed by the auditors of field offices and to intervene during the audit process in case of any non-adherence to policies by auditors.
“This will help ensure transparency in the field audits,” they said adding that Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Pakistan in collaboration with World Bank was also working on the up-gradation of the status of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants from Associate Member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to Full Member status.
It was also establishing National Institute of Public Finance Accountants (NIPFA) for providing quality training for the capacity building of DAGP human capital, they added.
