Agri Dept achieves 51% wheat sowing target

MUZAFFARGARH: The Agricultural Department has achieved 51 percent wheat sowing target so far in the district.

This was stated by District Officer Agriculture Mahar Abid Hussain in a statement. According to official sources here Wednesday, Mahar Abid said that wheat sowing was continued with rapid pace in the district adding that per acre wheat production could be enhanced by sowing timely wheat crop.

He said that agriculture department had set 740,000 acre wheat cultivation target across the district while wheat crop had cultivated on 376,000 acre land so far. He said that awareness programmes were being organized to create awareness among wheat growers about the timely sowing of wheat crop and its advantages.
