LAHORE: The Punjab Agriculture Department has warned farmers against using improper fertilizers in paddy crop, which leads to less yield.
The sources in the department told APP that roots of a plant did not grow properly due to less use of fertilizers and excessive use of fertilizers damages a crop badly. Paddy growers were advised to use balanced amount of fertilizers to achieve desired amount of yield of their commodity. Proper analysis of the land was vital for using right amount of fertilizers while Nitrogen and Phosphorus were key ingredients for getting the maximum yield of paddy, the sources added. Potash was needed for sandy land and for the land which was irrigated with tube well and farmers must keep less level of water while applying fertilizers. Farmers should seek further guidance from agriculture offices and follow them to obtain good results.
