MULTAN: The sugarcane growers have been advised to use suitable fertilizers for getting better production.
The agriculture experts said that the growers should apply third instalment of nitrogen fertilizer by end of recent month of June, adding, “Growers should also removed weeds from the crop as it could decrease the sugarcane production by 50 percent.”
They said that growers should irrigate sugarcane crop timely as per acre production could be affected from it. The farmers were also advised to irrigate sugarcane crop five to six times from 10 to 12 days gap during the months of May and June. They said that growers could spray on sugarcane crop after consultation with field staff of agriculture department (extension and pest warning).
