Ahad Cheema’s judicial remand extended till April 4

LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of former director general of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema till April 4.

The court questioned the investigation officer regarding the status of the final report of the LDA City project.

The officer apprised the court that a final report has been prepared which would be submitted in the next hearing.

A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official told the court that Cheema had sold many files of LDA City worth millions besides permitting development partners to sell out plots. Later, the court extended Cheema’s remand and adjourned the hearing till April 4.

Cheema was arrested over charges of misuse of authority in awarding Ashiana Housing contract worth Rs14 billion to Lahore Casa Developers that  was ineligible for the contract.
