AIB Appraisement West finalizes report about chemicals cleared during last 3 years

KARACHI: The Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) of the Customs Collectorate Appraisement West has prepared a detailed report about importers who are involved in importing chemicals by using wrong PCT Heading and Valuation Ruling, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the report, which is prepared following directives of Collector Appraisement West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi, covers the last three years.

The sources that the report highlighted 15 importers who were involved in importing the chemical by using wrong PCT Headings in connivance with clearing agents.

Replying to a query, the sources said that the authorities would soon launch a crackdown against those importers and their cases will be sent to the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings.
