The AIB had booked the importer M/s Right Way Trading Company in the tax evasion case a few months ago. According to customs authorities, the accused importer through mis-declaration imported solar panels and evaded millions of rupees worth of revenue in terms of sales tax and income tax.

Later, the importer M/s Right Way Trading Company moved the court for defending the allegations and stated that the consignments containing solar panels had an authority letter of the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB).

Following the court’s orders, the AIB officials will leave for Islamabad next week in order to check the veracity of the imported consignment by the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB).

The authorities concerned disclosed that the AIB will investigate the matter thoroughly and then submit a cohesive report before the honourable court.
