KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia’s marketing campaigns have received recognition at the local and international levels. This was seen from the accolades it received at the recent Marketing Excellence Awards by Advertising + Marketing Magazine in Kuala Lumpur, as well as the Mega Awards held by Airline Information (Ai) in Toronto, Canada. The recognitions awarded at the Marketing Excellence Awards held in Kuala Lumpur recently were the Gold Award for Social Media Category, and the Silver Award for CSR Category for AirAsia’s Travelling Beruang Campaign.

This was a collaborative project with Media Prima to raise awareness about children with cancer in Malaysia and raise funds for the National Cancer Council of Malaysia (MAKNA). AirAsia’s Value Pack Campaign and AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme Final Call Sale Campaign were both named Campaign of the Year for Ancillary Revenue and Merchandising and Travel Co-Branded Card respectively at the Mega Awards held in Toronto, Canada on Oct 25. Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial AirAsia Berhad said the leading budget airlines marketing campaigns were designed to reach its intended target audience effectively.

He said being recognised for the work that AirAsia did was an honour. “These awards are solid testaments to the effectiveness of our engagement with our guests; and we are humbled that industry experts agree with us. “I would like to congratulate the team for working hard to plan and execute these campaigns, and we will further explore new ways to create more exciting campaigns in the future”, he said today. Other than clinching the top titles, the AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme also clinched the Silver Award for Excellence in Loyalty Marketing by Marketing Excellence Awards and was named runner up for the Innovation of the Year Award under the Travel Co-Branded Card for Mega Awards.

With these wins, AirAsia BIG has once again proven its continuous commitment in providing members with innovative member-exclusive products and privileges such as the Final Call Sale. At the same time, AirAsia’s Electronic Gift Voucher was also named runner up for the Ancillary Revenue & Merchandising category for Mega Awards.
