ISLAMABAD: The government has banned the import of monosodium glutamate also known as Ajinomoto salt for import into Pakistan.
The ministry of commerce has issued SRO 266(I)/2018 dated February 28, 2018 to amend Import Policy Order, 2016 and added Ajinomoto salt having HS Code 2922.4210 in to negative list under Appendix – A of the Import Policy Order, 2016. The items listed in Appendix – A are banned and not permissible for import into Pakistan.
