RIYADH: Alawwal Bank has made a donation to the Saudi Deaf Sports Federation, in support of their initiatives for deaf women. Soren Nikolajsen, managing director, Alawwal Bank, recently visited the federation’s headquarters in Riyadh. He met with Saudi Deaf Sports Federation President Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani and staff members. Nikolajsen was given an overview of the federation’s activities and a tour of its facilities, where he saw first hand how the bank’s donation would benefit its work. “The management and employees at Alawwal Bank are both proud and delighted that we are able to play a small part in supporting the Saudi Deaf Sports Federation in its important work.

Sports has a fantastic ability to bring people together, to develop confidence and to empower people to overcome life’s challenges. I have been really impressed with the enthusiasm and passion I have seen here for providing vital support to deaf people via sports and social activities,” said Nikolajsen. Al-Qahtani expressed his appreciation for the bank, saying: “The donation will greatly help the federation’s ability to further develop sports initiatives for deaf women.” The Saudi Deaf Sports Federation plays an important role for deaf men and women in Saudi Arabia. In addition to the provision of sports activities for deaf people, the federation also provides a forum for social, cultural and educational activities, such as the teaching of sign language.
