TIRANA: The level of non-performing loans dropped to 22.4 percent in April 2015, the lowest since 2012, Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported here the other day.
According to data from Albanian Association of Banks, the non-performing loans went below the level of 22.8 percent which was recorded at the end of March.
Gradual reduction of non-performing loans is mainly attributed to prudent lending by second-level banks over last years and an upward trend in lending.
The administrative actions for execution of the collateral and lost loan write-off as well as the Bank of Albania measures to facilitate loan restructuring have played a crucial role too.
Reduction of non-performing loans is having a positive impact on banks’ financial results, according to Albanian Association of Banks.
