Albanian PPI falls by 3% in Q3

TIRANA: Producer price index (PPI) in Albania dropped by 3 percent in the third quarter of 2015, Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said on Friday.

INSTAT said in its latest quarterly report that producer prices in mining and quarrying industry decreased by 13.9 percent, with prices of products on extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas falling by 19.4 percent. Whereas, producer price index in manufacturing sector increased by 0.2 percent quarter-on-quarter.

Another rise was registered on the price of chemical products by 6.5 percent and that of the dressing products by 3.6 percent.

Meanwhile, index prices of products produced for export fell by 0.9 percent compared with the same period of previous year.

According to the INSTAT data, the producer price index for domestic market reached 98.2 percent, signaling a decrease by 1.7 percent compared to the second quarter of 2015. Lower prices are registered in mining and quarrying section by 11.6 percent, while producer prices of manufacturing section increased by 0.7 percent.
